The symbiosis of nature and mind is rarely more revealed to me than when exposed to the intense flow of energy moved onshore by the ocean. With this series, I wanted to explore the infinite force and natural beauty of the sea, to which I have such deep emotional connection, in the context of the unified, dynamic and harmonized structure of cosmos.

Whatever procession of events life creates, each enjoyed for whatever it brings, disturbs not the premise that a lifetime remains constant. Each experience is meant to be shown from the perspective of the ocean as one entity, constantly recasting the shore, creating harmony beyond what immediately meets the eye. From morning to sunset, with high tide and low tide, the constant energy of the sea lingers well into the twilight hour.

When nightfall takes over and we reach that strange place between being awake and sleep, nature and mind may more easily merge. The dreamy sequences can be seen as images from another planet...

Life above and below the surface is a source of endless fascination, harboring secrets and unknowns, mysteries and the obvious. In this series, my exploration enters the more secluded world of the oceans, only to realize how perfectly it complements the beauty and harmony hiding in plane sight around us on land.

Taking the time to see beyond the surface, discovering the natural world in its beauty and infinate complexity, its wilderness and unpredictability, becomes a humbling experience. What I hope to create with these images is a sense of replacing the world of man with the world of nature, if only for a brief moment in time.

The images were captured in Cocos Island and Costa Rica. Cocos Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site found in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Costa Rica.

Being at the fringe of open water brings sensations of freedom and inner peace in ways hard to fully explain. With this series, my wsh is to convey the subdued force, and splendor with which the open ocean rolls onshore after another storm passed by in the night.

In the momentary calm following the turmoil of gusty winds, fog may still linger in the air, or the airstream left the sky bright blue, with no sign of the earlier turbulence. Only the waves crashing onto the cliffs reveal the dynanysm of nature's revitalizing unrest.

The mystical feel created for brief moments by light has always enthralled me. With this series, I wanted to explore the captivating appearance of light waves, as one can sometime catch a glimpse of them by the ocean due to their reflective aptitude when expressed through different media found in nature.

These phenomena can be perceived all around us, if one is open to noticing them. Under favorable circumstances, water, clouds and fog interact with the relative angle of the sun to produce striking effect. Each experience whether a late hour reflection of copper and silver toned cliffs in the waves, magnification of the sun’s beam through a foggy winter afternoon, the setting of the sun as a fog bank moves onshore, or the open skyscape at twilight signifies different facets of the mysticism of the sea.

The continuous energy of the ocean shifts appearances almost by the hour, displaying a stunning array of vibrant existences as the day advances towards twilight hour. With this series, I wanted to project a vision grounded in experiences of the ocean so rich and full where each moment in time is marked with its own distinct colors.

The ocean and its sky have been linked with drama for centuries. Each color display that nature creates depends on how the visible light reflects when it strikes an object, be it the surface of the ocean or clouds drifting the sky. The intense and striking colors revealed in the rolling tides of scenery captured from the seashore are each meant to evoke a mood unique to the viewer.

To me, the progression of light over the course of a day offers a sense of harmony in the midst of whatever chaos life may otherwise bring. By catching a glimpse of a moment formed in nature, one which is there to enjoy for those who take the time to observe, I...

With this series, I wanted to convey the inherent synergy between our senses and mind, and how it influences the perception of our surroundings. By exploring the same subject, frozen in time, distinctively captured in different lights and vantage points, I wish to express the mysterious quality of the sea, which sparks the imagination of those who halt to observe.

In its display of aesthetic expressions, the perpetual force and genuine splendor of the sea inspire pause and reflection. While capturing these moments, I approach photography more from the perspective of paintings than to directly reproducing reality, the images still identifiably depict the natural environment and real objects of the sea. Rather than using the camera to merely pointing to objects, as with paintings, the relation between the capturing of the object and the object itself is intentional, the core of the expression.
